About 70 km west of central Hue, A Luoi is a mountainous area closely linked to the story of Arabica coffee in Hue. Instead of only enjoying coffee at the bar, the A Luoi coffee farm tour takes you to the growing region itself to better understand where the coffee beans begin.
A day exploring A Luoi coffee
The journey starts in Hue and takes you to the A Luoi coffee region. There you will explore the farm, learn about the coffee plant and meet the local people who grow and care for the coffee.
Depending on the time of year, farm activities may vary with the season. You can take part in hands-on activities with the coffee plants, learn about growing, harvesting and processing, and enjoy A Luoi coffee right where it is grown.
This is not just a sightseeing trip, but a chance to see the journey of an A Luoi coffee bean from the farm to the cup.
The story of A Luoi coffee
The first coffee trees were planted in A Luoi in 2001. Over time, the growing area was gradually forgotten and much of the coffee land was replaced by other crops.
In 2016, Greenfields Coffee began researching and rebuilding this coffee region. In 2018, PhinHolic joined Greenfields Coffee and the farming households in A Luoi, step by step improving the growing, harvesting and processing and developing the quality of the coffee.
With each harvest, A Luoi coffee has seen positive changes in quality and flavor. PhinHolic continues to bring A Luoi coffee into many brewing methods, from phin and espresso to manual brewing.
